The TIF bid referundum votes are in and all 10 areas have decided against the £2.8b of investment in the transport system around the city. Part of the bid was a congestion charge during the rush hour.

Manchester City Council are currently working on a campaign to highlight the safe use of taxis and private hire vehicles in Manchester. As a result of this, they have designed a smal credit card sized leaflet (see pdf document).

It provides information on where the city centre ranks are, how to contact the Licensing Unit, telephone numbers for private hire and radio companies, and tips provided by Greater Manchester Police on a safe night out in Manchester.
